Remnant Jack, or Jack, is an NPC. She was released in v1.140.0, and can be found in the Shattered Chamber. She rewards the Permanent Magnet perk.

Apparently, there's a player that keeps going around asking if Ace is right or left handed.

I personally have only had a few experiences with Ace.

It was when Phantom asked me to sabotage the portal he was coming through.

The Associates attempted to break into our little Remnant Zone.

Ace in the Hole

On your way to that Permanent Magnet, but you'd rather hear about Ace, right?

So, the Associates tried to break in, multiple times, and they almost succeeded before.

We met face to face with him. And, we had a proposition. He could join us.

You see, he was like us, a Remnant. He was meant to be something entirely different.

But, as he was half finished, the devs decided to take his original self and change it.

They took his previous memories and implanted new ones as part of his new programming.

They made him into their pawn. Despite him meaning to be the 'hero' of the old game.

We offered him his past life back, and the chance for revenge, but he became soft.

He refused Phantom, said he liked the life he had now. Can you believe that?

That gets me so heated! Go get some ghosts before I get upset. Return for reward.

Now We're Thinking with Portals

So where was I? Right... THE JERK REFUSED PHANTOM!

Naturally, he'd seen our faces and knew our plan, so we couldn't let him go so easily.

That's when Phantom had me collapse the portal in on Ace, which sent him spiraling.

He was sent jumping from random world to random world, until his power ran out.

Then, he was stranded, but it seems someone helped him get his abilities recharged.

He managed to make his way back here. I see him popping around here and there.

And, I keep him from running into the other Associates, purposefully.

How's that for pulling strings? ;P Now, get me more ghosts. For a reward... I guess.

This NPC was supposed to be written by supergirlytreiner, however, MakkieMon mistakenly forgot to properly assign the questline to her. Because of this, Makkie had to write it herself, with assistance from Leeryical and CornBoyMCoy all night long in a Discord call.
- Corn came up with the title names and quest requirements, while it is unknown what Leeryical contributed.
According to Corn, Jack's Ghosts and Gates character is based on Makkie's real Dungeons & Dragons character.
Quest #3 title may be a reference to RoyallyFlushed, one of the developers.
