The Christmas Tower (2022) is a series of 6 floors filled with Christmas Ghosts to defeat. It was available to play in during the 2022 Christmas Event, with a 30 minute time limit.
The first 5 floors would randomly be either a maze floor filled with ghosts, an obby floor, a race floor, or a miniboss floor where you fight Mister Present. The 6th floor would have a Mega Boss to fight, and would drop one Festive Key upon defeat (The mega boss would randomly either Timber Scrooge, The Nutcracker, or Fluffy). The Tower was needed to be defeated in order to complete Head Elf's 2022 questline and gives 3 Festive Key upon completion of the 6th floor, totaling 4 Festive Keys from each run. It can be completed with other players.
This tower is the first to have an obby-based level, where the Player must go through stages of obstacle courses until they reach the end. v1.122.3 implemented a new floor in which is based on the Races event.
Rooms[]
The first five rooms are randomized, either being a Race floor (35%), an Obby floor (35%), a Miniboss floor (5%), and a Maze floor (25%). The sixth floor will always be a megaboss, either being Fluffy, Timber Scrooge, or The Nutcracker.
The general appearance of the floors resemble a Christmas factory, with conveyors that move presents around, and with pipes that shoot out presents and letters. The floor is carpeted, with wooden pillars and roof tiles. On the Maze floor shows doors to a Cafeteria, Elf Quarters, Ornament Production room, Wreath Sector, Icicle Room, Candy Sector, Navigation Office, Gift Wrapping room, and some Stables. Bookshelves, candy canes, (decorated) trees, and ladders are also scattered all over the place. In the middle of the Maze rooms stands a large compass, with "Christmas" as North, "Easter" as East, "Halloween" as South, and "Thanksgiving" as West.
The Race floor consists of the Player speeding through a torn down Christmas factory along with the outside, which is depicted as a snowy forest. The conveyors are breaking down and/or sinking into lava, and a lot of the letters and presents are much more disorganized.
Outside[]
The Tower's entrance requires the Lockcracker, separated into three key parts, to unlock, which can be acquired by completing the Blue, Green, and Pink Elf questlines. It takes 30 seconds for the dungeon to let the Players in, and can accept everyone in a server. The Tower is available while Players are currently running through a floor.
Waiting Room[]
After entering the Tower, or completing a floor, the Players will be teleported into a waiting room so that the next floor can be loaded. It also provides a section of time to recollect. Once the next floor has been loaded, there will be an intermission time of 15 seconds until the doorway to the next floor becomes accessible. If a Player joins the Tower while a floor is in progress, they will be teleported into the subsequent waiting room.
Maze[]
The Maze is comprised of three sections: a starting point, end point, and middle. When teleported into the maze, the Players will come into a room, similar in design to the Waiting Room. The goal is to reach the end of the maze, which is identical to the starting point, but its darkened frame has a green hue. The end is blocked by a purple barrier which will only give access to the Players if all the ghosts, usually around 30, across the Floor have been vacuumed. The middle is comprised of randomised rooms: 4-paths, corridors, and corners - at each door frame, there is a chance that the door will be blocked, causing a dead end on that specific path.
Obbies[]
This year is the first Tower with a floor of Obbies. The obby floor may appear at random as one or more of the 1st-5th floors. There are multiple obbies to complete, however if the floor is not completed at the end of a time limit, players will be teleported to the waiting room for the next floor.
Hoverboards, Jetpacks, and Gum Hotkey are disabled for the obbies, however gum can be used through the inventory menu.
At the bottom of some of the obbies is a lava pit that will cause corruption - there are ladders for the player to climb out of the pit. If the player doesn't get away from the lava, they can quickly reach 100% corruption.
The damage received from lava was nerfed in v1.122.3, as well as the number of obbies per floor reduced from 10 to 5.
- Moving Belts - Follow the arrows to jump between the conveyor belts.
- Platforms - There are some moving platforms and some stationary ones, many with present "blocks".
- Spinning Blades - Jump across the raised platforms, avoiding the spinning blades. (I wonder if you can jump on the wall to cheese it....)
- Lava - follow the narrow paths between lava pits
- Push Walls - Cross the side paths without being pushed into the center pit.
Race Floor[]
This year is also the first to have a race level, implemented on v1.122.3. The race floor may appear at random as one or more of the 1st-5th floors. A red mist catches up to the Player(s), as they have to dash through a broken Christmas tower to run away to it until they reach the exit. If the Player gets touched by the mist, they will be corrupted along with their screen turning red.
Hoverboards and gum are enabled, giving the player speed boosts to escape the mist.
Arena[]
On the 6th floor the Players are teleported to an arena with a random Mega Boss: the Timber Scrooge, Nutcracker, or Fluffy. The arena is a large circular room. After defeating the megaboss, a Festive Key is dropped and a portal appears that teleports the Player out of the tower.
v1.123.0 introduced a floor with a 5% chance of spawning with Mister Present, though could not be accessed until v1.123.2. It can appear at random every 1-5th floors, dropping a Christmas Lootbag when defeated.
Trivia[]
- This tower was built by DarkTThund3r from the BloxByte Games Discord Server.
- He was actually kind enough to provide the empty images for the Arena + Race Floors :-)
