On April 1st each year, April Fools is a day in which it is known for fun pranks and trickery, and Ghost Simulator is no exception to this. Mischief happens within the official BloxByte Games Discord Server and occasionally some happens in Ghost Simulator itself. For most, changes have been visual or audible and did not affect gameplay, but it may have tricked some players. The exceptions to this are the additions of Code Items to celebrate the occasions, or the 2023 April Fools Event.
2020 April Fools[]
He's pulled himself up out of the trash, hurt from being thrown out as if he's worth nothing. He's been preparing himself to get vengeance on the players who don't appreciate Pugs. Will your fancy pets help you defeat him or is he much too powerful now?

2021 April Fools[]
On April Fools Day (April 1st), Ghost Simulator's name was changed to "[🤖NEW] Simulate Spirit", "Happy April Fool's Day!" was added at the description and a new thumbnail was made by TutuZandra. This change was only during April Fools Day and has been changed back.
The official BloxByte Games Discord Server had its name changed to BlocksBite James and some of the people in the Discord server who had "Ghost Hunter" in their username have replaced "Ghost Hunter" with "Sprit Finder" or "Spirit Seeker".
The Developers and Admins also made alternate Roblox accounts with usernames that rhymed with their BloxByte Games usernames and a Roblox group called "BlocksBite James", with them in it. The description of the group being "We are BlocksBite James! Join our group to stay updated on new stuff and get 10,000% bonus luck when opening crates in Simulate Spirit! Team: BoatRow7, QuakkieMon, CokemanK".
The group owns a different game from the other called "[🤖New] Simulate Spirit", with a similar description to BloxByte Games Simulate Spirit, except for "Welcome to Simulate Spirit!", "Spirits have taken over the world", "Capture Spirits" and "Join the BlocksBite James group for 10,000% bonus luck". The cover is the same as the BloxByte Games Simulate Spirit, but the game itself is a flat grey platform with a grid not related to studs that stretches out for a while.
Even though April Fools Day is over, the BlocksBite James group, the accounts in the group and their game, Simulate Spirit has stayed.
2022 April Fools[]
On April Fools Day (April 1st), Ghost Simulator's name was changed to "👻Ghost Simulator 2" and a new thumbnail was made by TutuZandra.
A new pet was released using code "GHOSTSIM2": Simulate Spirit (Pet).
A new audio was released, a "nom nom nom" sound when vacuuming a ghost.

2023 April Fools[]
The code for this update was "APRILFOOLS" which gave the pet Moai Moai.
The code for April Fools Day was "SIMULATESPIRIT" which gave the pet Beta.
2023 April Fools Event[]
v1.129.0 introduced a small April Fool's event. Kozy Krepy appeared with a 13 task questline, at the end of which they rewarded the board Simulate Vortex.
As part of the questline, the player had to find a hidden Royal Krepy Cat and Thrift Krepy.
