Ever since its release, Ghost Simulator has celebrated the 4th of July. Typically, for the celebration, a code will be released with a pet and/or board themed around red, blue or white stripes and stars, or themed off of fireworks. These codes expire after July 4th (with the exception of 2019), so it is recommended to redeem them before the next day.

On July 5, 2019, v1.7.0 came out with an update adding the Skyburst pet into the game, obtainable with code "JULY4TH."

On July 4th, 2020, a tweet was posted announcing a code ("HAPPY4TH"). Firecracker was added and obtainable with the code.
